Ener-G Meatballs with Bread Crumbs
| 1 1⁄4 | lb | ground Turkey |
| 2 | lb | lean ground beef |
| 1 | ea | Large onion (finely chopped) |
| 1 | cup | Ener-G Bread Crumbs |
| 1 | tsp | dried basil |
| 1 | tsp | dried oregano |
| 1 | tsp | black pepper |
| 1 | tsp | salt |
| 1 | tsp | garlic powder (or desired amounts) |
| 3 | ea | Large Eggs |
| 2 | ea | 24oz jars of marinara sauce |
| ea | grated parmesan cheese (for topping) |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray or grease lightly the large baking pan.
Place turkey and beef in a large ‘salad-type’ bowl and slightly press one on the other. Mix together the bread crumbs and all the seasonings in a small bowl. Whisk together the 3 eggs and spread over the top of the meat. Add the crumb mixture and start to mix in all ingredients together until sides of bowl are almost clean.
Pour a small amount of oil in a saucer or bowl, and place hands in the oil to keep meat from sticking to hands. Take enough of the meat in your hands about one and one-half the size of a golf ball. Roll into ball and place 5x4 or 6x4 into pan. This meat recipe should make about 22-24 meatballs ( depending on the size ). Take marinara sauce and pour over the top of meatballs. About 3 Tbls. for each one. Leftover sauce can be used over the meatballs after slicing in half when served. Place in oven and bake 35 minutes. Turn pan around for even heating. Bake the meatballs another 35 minutes. Cook your favorite pasta or potato recipe and serve with meatballs and sauce, adding a small amount of grated Parmesan cheese for topping.
