Bee Die-Off and President Obama
“Obama moves to save the honey bees, targets pesticides. However, the Europeans are ahead of us.
On December1, 2013 several European nations banned a wide class of insecticides named neonicotinoids in an attempt to reverse their rapidly declining bee population.
The result has been a success, their bee populations have rebounded.
“Italy banned neonicotinoids five years ago.
Bee kill incidents have been reduced, and yields have been maintained, avoiding any economic hardship for farmers”.
Other European countries have had similar success.
Rather than do what the Europeans have done to alleviate their bee die-off,
President Obama has by Executive Order,
ordered the below agencies “to develop a National Pollinator Health Strategy (Strategy).”
Wouldn’t it be make more sense to follow the Europeans example?
(a) the Department of State;
(b) the Department of Defense;
(c) the Department of the Interior;
(d) the Department of Housing and Urban Development;

(n) the Office of Science and Technology Policy; and
(o) such executive departments, agencies, and offices as the Co-Chairs may designate.

Two new Studies Address the the Ongoing Phlight of Honeybees
PVC and BPA
PVC is Polyvinyl Chloride. This is a plastic that has the following chemical formula: CH2=CHCl
BPA is BisphnolA. This has the chemical formula (CH3)2C(C6H4OH)2
PVC is commonly used in building materials, pipes, siding, flooring, some food containers. It has a tendency to outgas. “Phthalate DEHP is often added to PVC to make it flexible”1 PVC’s safety is being challenged. Much information is available on internet
BPA is commonly used in food/beverages and in some construction materials. Some chemicals can migrate from BPA into food/beverages. Polycarbonite contains BPA. FDA says the migration is low enough not to be a concern, except with baby bottles and sip cups. Some studies
disagree. FDA banned it sip cups and baby bottles.
Reduce your use of PVC in Plastics and other Household Products.

Flour bugs are bugs that live in flour. Their eggs pass through all the sifting, sorting, and filtering because they are about the same size as the flour particles. The coarser the flour, the more likely intact bug eggs will survive. Over time such eggs may hatch. If you use the flour and/or
mix fast enough the bug eggs will not hatch. Some bug eggs can pass through 30 mesh screens through which coarser flours such as whole wheat and corn flour, pass.1 A mesh size of #30 has an opening of .0203 inch2.
The Food and Drug Administration uses several mesh sizes when looking for bug eggs,3 including Mesh 30. The United States Department of Agriculture recommends an even smaller Mesh 50 to sift for flour beetle eggs, “Pre-sift the flour with this size of sieve, or an even smaller #30
mesh sieve.) For collecting eggs, a #50 mesh sieve should be used to pre-sift the flour.”4 A #50 mesh has an opening of .0110 inch.5. Even a #50 doesn’t catch all bug eggs.
Ener-G Foods will replace at no charge any of its products which become infested with bugs.

Listings of Phenylalanine
We list Phenylalanine as a service to people with a genetic disease named PKU (Phenylketonuria). Phenylalanine occurs in almost all proteins. It is an essential protein to sustain in life, however people with PKU can only tolerate very small amounts. For example the 3.5mg of phenylalanine in our Potato Starch is tolerated by almost all people with PKU.
